The Ideas Network
In this section of my Portfolio I will aim to show you how I learnt to write effective and engaging news content, as well as; building and developing contacts, verifying credible news sources, communicating with specific communities and promote my content beyond my current existing network.
This will be shown through multiple types of content such as, video interviews, Vox Pops, blog posts, articles and any other extracurricular activities I get up to.

Teen with rare bone cancer back on track
On the 6th of October Joel Pearson, aged 19, got back to racing after being diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, where he will unfortunately have to get his leg amputated. Team BRIT is the racing team that allowed Joel to get back on track after his diagnosis, as team BRIT pride themselves on giving people with disabilities the chance to return to racing or even begin a career in the sport. Joel Pearson was previously a driver competing in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2020 as well as getting promoted to Formula 4 in 2021. Because of the pain and chemotherapy, as well as a big crash, Pearson had to pull out of racing for a period of time while he was getting treated. A year on from stopping racing, Joel reached out to team BRIT as they had opportunities for disabled drivers to start racing again. Pearson was given the chance to test out the team’s McLaren 570S GT4 car and realized that his dream to race again after his diagnosis was looking hopeful. I was fortunate enough to interview Daniel Truman recently; a racing driver who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, and who has worked with team BRIT before, and he said this about team BRIT and their aims to provide opportunities for people with disabilities; “They do a lot in all areas of motorsport, British GT included… they are doing something to help people who have disabilities get back into the sport”. Team BRIT continue to provide opportunities for other drivers like Joel Pearson and Daniel Truman and are constantly finding innovative ways to allow better accessibility for people with disabilities to race again.

Social Media Campaign: the struggle of social class in motorsport
For my social media campaign I talk about what Formula E is an why it is difficult for people from a poor/ less fortunate background to get into motor racing as a sport, due to the high amounts of money needed. The campaign spreads across Instagram, Twitter/X and Facebook. ALL POSTS RELATING TO THE CAMPAIGN ARE PINNED TO MY PROFILE…
Dystopian Vox Pops
These are the final versions of the vox pops seen above. They are edited to include photos which relate to what each person believes the future will look like in 100 years. The project took 3 weeks to complete and is now being broadcasted over the university campus.
Vox Pops for University collaboration project
These vox pops were created as part of a collaboration project for the University. In groups we were sent out onto the streets to ask other students what they thought the world would look like in the year 2123. I was behind the camera filming these short interviews, whilst some colleagues asked the question to participants.
My Video Reflective essay for my Assessment
This is a video of me sharing my thoughts on how the assessment went and the thought behind each decision I made along the way. I explain where I got my ideas from and what led me to do what I did. I also reflect on what I would change if I were to do it all again.
